John Elvis
Although primarily known for his role as Ben on the science-fiction drama "Under the Dome" (CBS 2013-15), actor John Elvis had a wide variety of other passions and interests, being an avid skateboarder, swimmer, and boxer. He also played the drums in a rock band. Acting, however, paid the bills for Elvis from his late teens. Born in Fayetteville, NC, Elvis had both Mexican and Korean roots. His family moved around a lot while he was growing up before settling in the small Gulf Coast town of Rockport, Texas. Already having difficulty making friends due to his transient lifestyle, Elvis was homeschooled until the eighth grade. He finally began attending school with other teenagers once high school rolled around. Already a stellar student, Elvis was also a skilled athlete, excelling as a swimmer, long distance runner, and boxer, respectively. As luck would have it, however, a talent scout discovered Elvis and suggested he take up acting. Before long the young actor was going on auditions, and by 2013, a mere two years after he initially took an interest in the craft, Elvis landed a recurring role on CBS's "Under the Dome." Elvis played a skateboarding teenager on the show named Ben, who quickly became a fan favorite character.
