John Chandos

John Chandos was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Chandos's career in acting began with his roles in various films like the Leslie Howard drama "49th Parallel" (1941), the crime flick "The Secret People" (1952) with Valentina Cortese and the David Niven drama "Carrington V.C." (1955). He also appeared in the action movie "Simba" (1955) with Dirk Bogarde. His film career continued throughout the fifties in productions like the comedy adaptation "The Green Man" (1956) with George Cole, "The Pursuit of the Graf Spee" (1956) and the adventure "The Ship That Died of Shame" (1956) with Richard Attenborough. Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in "Doctor at Large" (1957) with Dirk Bogarde, the dramatic adaptation "Time Without Pity" (1957) with Michael Redgrave and the Jose Ferrer dramatic adaptation "I Accuse" (1958). Chandos more recently acted in "Two Gentlemen Sharing" (1969) with Robin Phillips.
