Joe Conley

Joe Conley began his acting career with small parts in feature films, such as the delivery boy in the Barbara Stanwyck vehicle "Crime of Passion," with Sterling Hayden, in 1957. Conley moved to television and appeared on such shows as "Dragnet," "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" and "Dennis the Menace." Conley also appeared on several episodes of the talking horse series "Mr. Ed," playing various characters. From the 1960s and into the 1970s, Conley made guest shots on such iconic sitcoms as "The Beverly Hillbillies," "Green Acres" and "The Brady Bunch." But he is best known as Ike Godsey, the storekeeper on the long-running hit family drama "The Waltons." He appeared on over 150 episodes of that show, and later appeared in several television movies as Godsey. In 2000, Conley made a rare trip to the big screen when he appeared in a brief role on the Tom Hanks desert-island drama "Cast Away."
