Joe Adler

American actor Joe Adler became best known for his recurring role as FBI Agent Jason Wylie on "The Mentalist" (CBS 2008-2015). Having been born and raised in Los Angeles, Adler was surrounded by the film and television industry as a kid. He always set his sights on becoming a professional actor, and after high school he began to audition for TV roles. He nabbed his first part in 2010 on the short-lived crime drama "Detroit 1-8-7" (ABC 2010-11), and quickly followed that up by landing guest spots on "NCIS" (CBS, 2003-) and "Bones" (FOX, 2005-). In 2011, Adler landed his first movie role in the teen comedy "Prom." The film, however, failed to catch on with audiences. Undeterred, Adler returned to TV, nabbing parts on such hit sitcoms as "Modern Family" (ABC, 2009-) and "Workaholics" (Comedy Central, 2011-17). He nabbed his first recurring role in 2012 on the Showtime comedy "Shameless" (2011-), having appeared in three episodes of the second season. Then in 2014 Adler appeared as Zart in "The Maze Runner." The film was a huge hit with audiences, which only added to Adler's already growing status as a rising young actor. His status grew even more when in 2014 he was added as a series regular on the hit CBS crime drama, "The Mentalist." Adler played computer specialist Jason Wylie for 26 episodes on the show, which ended its seven-season run in the winter of 2015.
