Jimmy Ray Pickens
Actor Jimmy Pickens was widely known for his presence on the silver screen. Pickens's acting career began with roles in action films like the Peter Weller film "Robocop 2" (1990). He had an early role on the television special "Under Fire: The Real Story" (ABC, 1988-89). He also was featured in the miniseries "Lonesome Dove" (1988-89). His work around this time also included a part on the TV movie "A Taste For Killing" (USA, 1991-92). He also appeared in the Jason Patric crime feature "Rush" (1991). During these yearsHe also worked in television around this time, including a part on "Walker, Texas Ranger" (CBS, 1992-2001). He also landed roles in the miniseries "John Jakes' Heaven and Hell: North and South, Part III" (1993-94) and "A Woman of Independent Means" (1994-95). Pickens took on film roles in more recent years, appearing in the John Candy comedy "Wagons East!" (1994), "Courage Under Fire" (1996) with Denzel Washington and the period drama "The Locusts" (1997) with Kate Capshaw. He also was featured in the TV movie "The Con" (USA, 1997-98). Most recently, Pickens appeared in "Silk Hope" (CBS, 1999-2000).
