Jennie Pierson

Like many of her generation's greatest comedic voices, Jennie Pierson got her start as a writer and performer for the Upright Citizens Brigade. She joined the organization in 2008, and went on to make her feature film debut just two years later with a small part in "Freak Dance" (2010), a comedy costarring fellow UCB veteran Amy Poehler. Around the same time, Pierson began writing for the short-lived sketch comedy television program "Funny or Die Presents" (HBO 2010-11), a spin-off series spawned from the popularity of the eponymous website. Over the years to follow, Pierson performed in a number of digital sketches produced by FunnyOrDie.com, including its feature-length ventures like the Steve Jobs biopic parody "iSteve" (2013) and the Donald Trump satire "The Art of the Deal: The Movie" (2016). Around the same time, Pierson began accruing higher profile projects, like a recurring role on the popular sitcom "Black-ish" (ABC 2014-) and a part in the Zac Efron-starring comedy film "Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates" (2016). Next, Pierson landed a costarring role in the workplace sitcom "Powerless" (NBC 2017), playing an employee at a company that dealt secondhand with superhero adventures.
