Jeff Glor

Broadcast journalist and correspondent Jeff Glor was born in Buffalo, New York. He attended Syracuse University and graduated magna cum laude in 1997 with a dual major in journalism and economics. In 1997, he began working for WSTM in Syracuse as a morning news anchor. He was also later co-anchor of WSTM's 5:00 p.m. newscast and a reporter for their 11:00 p.m. news. From Syracuse, Glor eventually moved on to Boston, and worked at WHDH as their weekend evening news anchor and as a weekday reporter from 2003 to 2007. Glor joined CBS News in 2007, working as a co-anchor and newsreader on the weekend edition of "The Early Show" (1999-2012), and provided reporting on such topics as the 2008 presidential race. In 2009, he began to anchor the Saturday edition of "CBS Evening News" (1948-). He also continued to report for other CBS news shows, including "CBS Sunday Morning" (1979-), for which he won an Emmy. Following the cancellation of "The Early Show," he was the Saturday anchor for "CBS This Morning" (2012-) as well as the Sunday anchor for "CBS Evening News." During this time, he also began to do long-form reporting for CBS, offering extended coverage on such topics as a recall at General Motors. In October 2017, CBS announced that Glor would become the new permanent anchor and managing editor for "CBS Evening News," replacing Scott Pelley. Glor stepped into this new role on December 4, 2017.
