The BAU is called when the New Orleans P.D. discovers a mass grave inside a vandalized above-ground crypt in a local cemetery.

Kat joins Carter to wait in line to score exclusive sneakers for his son. Then, while trying to have a relaxing night in, Randi is pulled into giving advice to Max and Phil, and Sheila tries to get Oscar to stand up for himself.

When Randi sees Sheila’s boyfriend out with another woman, she and Kat decide to investigate, but can’t decide if they should tell Sheila. Meanwhile, Randi looks for a new apartment and Oscar gets Max and Carter to try yoga.

After taking some time to travel and decompress, Kat (Mayim Bialik) is on her way back to Louisville when she is upgraded to first class and seated next to Jeopardy!’s winningest contestant, Ken Jennings, on her flight home. Upon arrival, she discovers some significant changes have been made to the cafe by Randi (Kyla Pratt) and Phil (Leslie Jordan) and Randi’s passion for her job is now straining her relationship with Carter (Julian Gant). Max (Cheyenne Jackson) has returned home from his time in Nashville pursuing his music career, with cowboy boots and a big ego to go along with them.

It’s time for Sheila (Swoosie Kurtz) to renew her driver’s license, but she refuses to go take the test and Kat (Mayim Bialik) tries to figure out why. Meanwhile, Phil (Leslie Jordan) urges the group to try his mama’s moonshine despite their skepticism, and Max (Cheyenne Jackson) finally sells a song to be used in a national commercial, but it ends up becoming a big joke online.
