James Read
James Read was a Hollywood actor who starred in a number of dramatic films. Read began his acting career appearing mainly in films, such as "The Initiation" (1983) with Vera Miles, the Roy Scheider action film "Blue Thunder" (1983) and the John Cusack sports drama "Eight Men Out" (1988). He also appeared in the Bette Midler dramedy "Beaches" (1988). He also was featured in the miniseries "Robert Kennedy and His Times" (1984-1985). He worked in television in his early acting career as well, including a part on "Cheers" (NBC, 1982-1993). His work around this time also included a part on the TV movie "Back to Hannibal: The Return of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn" (Disney, 1990-1991). He also worked in film during these years, including a part on the thriller "Love Crimes" (1992) with Sean Young. He also landed roles in the miniseries "Poor Little Rich Girl: The Barbara Hutton Story" (1987-1988) and "North and South: Book II" (1985-1986). Read focused on film in more recent years, appearing in the Chyler Leigh comedy "Not Another Teen Movie" (2001), the comedy sequel "Legally Blonde 2: Red, White and Blonde" (2003) with Reese Witherspoon and "A Lot Like Love" (2005). He also worked in television during these years, including a part on "Wildfire" (Freeform, 2005-08). Read most recently acted on "Persons Unknown" (NBC, 2010).
