Jake Weary
Jake Weary was an American actor who broke out in the summer of 2016 when he joined the cast of the crime drama "Animal Kingdom" (TNT, 2016-). Born and raised in Trenton, New Jersey, Weary had acting in his blood. His parents, Kim Zimmer and A.C. Weary, were both accomplished television actors, so Weary grew up dreaming of one day being alongside one of his parents on the small screen. His dream came true in 2002 when, at the age of 12, Weary appeared alongside his mother on an episode of the long-running soap opera "Guiding Light" (CBS, 1952-2009). The experience was beyond thrilling for the young Weary, and after a brief acting sojourn which he used to focus on his schoolwork, he returned to the small screen in 2005 with a recurring role on the soap opera "As the World Turns" (CBS, 1952-2010). Weary played Luke Snyder on 52 episodes of the series, which made him a recognizable face to show's millions of devoted viewers. By the late 2000s Weary was also starting to land film roles in movies like "Assassination of a High School President" (2008), "Fred: The Movie" (2010), and "Altitude" (2010). Then in 2014 he had a breakout year by nabbing a supporting role in the film "It Follows," as well as recurring parts on the TV shows "Chicago Fire" (NBC, 2012-) and "Pretty Little Liars" (Freeform, 2010-). Weary continued appearing in mostly short films over the next two years, until landing his breakout TV role in 2016 when he joined the cast of the TNT drama "Animal Kingdom." After a successful first season aired in the summer of 2016, "Animal Kingdom" returned for its widely-anticipated season two in May of 2017, with Weary reprising his role as Deran Cody.
