American actress Isabel May made her acting and television debut as Katie on the multi-camera sitcom "Alexa & Katie" (Netflix 2018). The starring role was the newcomer's introduction to show business, acting alongside Paris Barelc, known for the superhero show "Mighty Med" (Disney XD, 2013-15). The show follows two incoming high school freshmen and lifelong friends who have to support each other in the face of adversity when the titular Alexa is diagnosed with cancer. The show was not meant to make light of cancer but show how Barelc's character can still be like everyone else in spite of her condition, according to Barelc. "Alexa & Katie" also stars Tiffani Thiessen of "Saved by the Bell" (NBC, 1989-1993) and "Beverly Hills, 90210" (Fox, 1994-98) fame as Alexa's mother. Jolie Jenkins, known for her appearances on "The X-Files" (Fox, 1993-2002), will play the mother of May's character Katie.
