A message relating to a set of valuable printing plates stolen from the Bank of France and shipped to America is sent by mistake to a young girl in the Superman drama, "The Birthday Letter." Captured and held by the counterfeiters, the girl is rescued by Clark Kent as Superman, who arrives unexpectedly in answer to a friendly birthday letter.
Les Clinton, alias Texas Sandman, comes to Diablo ready to retire from gunfighting and marry local teacher Marge. He befriends Annie who aids him when the Yanceys arrive seeking revenge against the weaponless Clinton.
