Ilfenesh Hadera

Born and raised in New York City, Ilfenesh Hadera graduated from the prestigious Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, which was the basis for the film "Fame" (1980), and the subsequent TV series. Hadera also studied acting at the Harlem School of Arts before making the jump to the screen. One of her first credits was a small role in "Da Brick" (2011), a pilot directed by Spike Lee. Although the show didn't go to series, it was the first of many collaborations between Hadera and Lee, another being Lee's remake "Oldboy" (2013). Hadera was a series regular on the highly praised limited series "Show Me a Hero" (HBO, 2015) created by David Simon before again collaborating with Lee on the film "Chi-raq" (2015) then landing a recurring role on "Billions" (Showtime, 2016-). In 2017, Hadera again appeared in a Spike Lee joint, this time in a supporting role on the TV series adaptation of his film "She's Gotta Have It" (Netflix, 2017-). It was announced that she would be the series lead on "Deception" (ABC, 2018-), playing an FBI agent who teams up with an illusionist to solve crime.
