Ian Roberts
South African-born Ian Roberts was a beloved actor, well-known for his memorable performances on the Hollywood movie screen. Roberts started off his acting career mostly in film roles, appearing in "Jane and the Lost City" (1988), the Bill Flynn drama "A Private Life" (1989) and the Stephen Dorff dramatic adaptation "The Power of One" (1992). He also appeared in "Cry, the Beloved Country" (1995) with Richard Harris and "Tarzan and the Lost City" (1998). He also appeared in the TV movie "Inside" (Showtime, 1995-96). He continued to act in productions like the Terje Stromdahl thriller "The Successor" (1998), "A Reasonable Man" (1999) and the Kagiso Mtetwa drama "Malunde" (2002). He also appeared in "Red Dust" (2005) with Hilary Swank. Recently, he tackled roles in the Presley Chweneyagae crime flick "Tsotsi" (2006), the dramatic adaptation "Disgrace" (2009) with John Malkovich and the drama "At Ellen's Age" (2010) with Jeanne Balibar. He also appeared in the Bo Petersen foreign "I Now Pronounce You Black & White" (2010) and "Stuur Groete aan Mannetjies Roux" (2013). Most recently, Roberts acted in the action film "Gods of Egypt" (2016) with Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.
