Hugh Dempster

Hugh Dempster was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Dempster's career beginnings included film roles in "The Way to the Stars" (1945), "Anna Karenina" (1948) with Vivien Leigh and the dramatic adaptation "The Winslow Boy" (1948) with Robert Donat. Dempster made film his next project, appearing in the comedy adaptation "The Fan" (1949) with Jeanne Crain, the Alastair Sim dramatic adaptation "A Christmas Carol" (1951) and "Happy Go Lovely" (1951) with David Niven. He also appeared in "Father Brown" (1954) and "The House Across the Lake" (1954). Later in his career, Dempster acted in the Peter Cushing adaptation "The Curse of Frankenstein" (1957). Dempster passed away in April 1987 at the age of 87.
