Henry Garrett

A prolific player on television and in feature films, British actor Henry Garrett moved swiftly from bit and supporting roles to featured and starring turns in "Poldark" (BBC One, 2015-) and "The Son" (AMC, 2017-). Born in Bristol, England, Garrett trained at the Lee Strasberg Institute and made his screen debut in a 2007 episode of the UK medical drama "Casualty" (BBC One, 1986-). He worked his way up from bit parts to supporting roles, including splashy, multi-episode arc as a male dancer accused of sexual assault on "The Bill" (ITV, 1984-2010) and an ill-mannered footballer on "Skins" (E4, 2007-2013). Garrett made his feature film debut opposite Stacy Keach in the sports drama "The Boxer" (2009), and soon began alternating appearances on television series like "Midsomer Murders" (ITV, 1997) with feature films roles, including a hapless evangelical singer in "The Wicker Tree" (2010) and supporting turns in major pictures like "Red Tails" (2012) and "Zero Dark Thirty" (2012). Within a few years, Garrett was working on multiple screen projects a year, including turns opposite Kate Winslet in the Alan Rickman-directed "A Little Chaos" (2014) the UK historical films "Pride" (2014) and "Testament of Youth" (2014) and two appearances on the crime drama "Peaky Blinders" (BBC Two, 2013-), all in the same year. In 2015, he joined the cast of the popular "Poldark" series, playing the Scottish captain McNeil, and soon added a co-starring role in the American Western drama "The Son" as the scion of oil baron Pierce Brosnan's empire. Garrett also found time during this busy period to play the King in Disney's live-action remake of "Beauty and the Beast" (2017).
