Héctor Ortega

Hector Ortega was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Ortega began his acting career with roles in such films as the drama "El Rincon de las Virgenes" (1972) with Alfonso Arau, the comedic adaptation "Calzonzin Inspector" (1974) with Alfonso Arau and the drama "Mariana, Mariana" (1987) with Pedro Armendariz Jr. He also appeared in the crime picture "El Costo de la Vida" (1989) with Rafael Sánchez Navarro. In the nineties, Ortega devoted his time to various credits, such as "Matan a Chinto" with Pedro Armendariz Jr. (1990), "Men At Work" (1990) and "La Leyenda de una Mascara" (1991). He also worked on "Like Water for Chocolate" with Marco Leonardi (1993) and "Dollar Mambo" (1995). Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in the comedic drama "Mujeres Insumisas" (1995) with Patricia Reyes Spindola, the Maria Elena Velasco comedy "Las Delicias del Poder" (1999) and the Osvaldo Benavides comedy "Por la libre" (2000). He also appeared in "Francisca" (2002) with Ulrich Noethen. Ortega most recently acted in the Cecilia Roth comedy adaptation "Lucia Lucia" (2003).
