Harry Winer
Hard-working TV director Harry Winer has had plenty of opportunities throughout his career to work with his wife, actress Shelley Hack. Their various collaborations include the 1984 TV movie "Single Bars, Single Women" and the '86 single season ABC-TV sitcom "Jack and Mike," in which Hack co-starred with Tom Mason. Winer's two most prolific decades as a TV director have been the '80s and the 2000s. In the former decade, he guided multiple episodes of shows such as "Hart to Hart" and "Goodnight, Beantown" before gradually focusing on long-form TV movies. When that genre started to peter out, Winer returned to episodic TV in the form of repeat gigs with "Felicity," "Summerland," and "Veronica Mars." An interesting footnote to Winer's career is the fact that he began directing not in the realm of TV fiction but rather in documentary reality--via the '76 entry "The Legend of Bigfoot."
