GZA

Born in New York City, Gary Grice, better known by his stage names GZA and The Genius, is an American rapper. As a child, in the early 1970s, Grice developed an interest in breakdancing, hip-hop and DJing. Grice formed a three-man group with his cousins, Robert Diggs and Russell Jones. GZA was signed to Cold Chillin' Records as a solo artist under the name, The Genius. In 1991, He released his debut album, "Words from the Genius." In 1992, Grice joined the Wu-Tang Clan. In 1995, he released his second studio album, "Liquid Swords." After appearing on the Wu-Tang Clan's second album, "Wu-Tang Forever" (1997), Grice released his third studio album "Beneath the Surface" in 1999. In 2005, GZA and DJ Muggs released "Grandmasters." In 2010, Grice spoke at Harvard University. In late 2012, to improve science education in New York City and beyond, Grice began work on a pilot program called Science Genius B.A.T.T.L.E.S. (Bringing Attention to Transforming, Teaching and Learning Science). In February 2015, GZA released a single "The Mexican." In 2020, Gary Grice, better known by his stage name GZA, provided a voice role in Netflix's "Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts."
