Grace Helbig

Born in southern New Jersey to John Helbig and Theresa McGinnis, comedian and host Grace Helbig formed sketch comedy troupe "Baked Goods" with her best friend Michelle Akin. Interested in performing, Helbig entered the 2005 Miss New Jersey pageant, where she made it to the semifinals. In 2007 while housesitting for a couple in southern New Jersey, Helbig began to make video blogs, or "vlogs," in an effort to entertain and amuse herself. These videos aired on Helbig's personal YouTube Channel GraceHinaBox. Rob Barnett, the CEO of online multi-channel network MyDamnChannel, discovered Helbig's videos online and offered Helbig the chance to host a video series of her own on the website. The show "DailyGrace" premiered April 14, 2008 and consisted of original videos and content uploaded on a daily basis. The show ran through December 2013 and featured over 800 original videos created by Helbig herself. In September of 2013, Helbig premiered a weekly beauty-focused web series "Grace's Faces" on the website of makeup artist Bobbi Brown. Helbig appeared in numerous television spots including a series of public service announcements for The N's "Big Green Help" an environmental awareness campaign that aired in 2008-09. In January 2015, cable outlet E! announced that Helbig would be given her own talk show on the network.
