Gordon Jones

Gordon Jones was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Jones's early acting career consisted of roles in various films, such as "Night Waitress" (1936), "Walking on Air" (1936) and "Devil's Squadron" (1936). He also appeared in the musical comedy "Strike Me Pink" (1936) with Eddie Cantor, "There Goes My Girl" (1937) and "Sea Devils" (1937) with Victor McLaglen. He continued to act in productions like "They All Kissed the Bride" (1942), "Flying Tigers" (1942) and the Judy Canova comedy adaptation "True to the Army" (1942). He also appeared in the Rosalind Russell comedic adaptation "My Sister Eileen" (1942). Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in the Doris Day biopic "The Winning Team" (1952), the Gene Autry western "Wagon Team" (1952) and the action flick "Island in the Sky" (1953) with John Wayne. He also appeared in the Dana Andrews western "Smoke Signal" (1955) and "The Monster That Challenged the World" (1957). Jones was most recently credited in "History Vs. Hollywood" (History, 2001-02). Jones passed away in June 1963 at the age of 52.
