Gerran Howell
Welsh actor Gerran Howell played the role of a teenage vampire on the TV series "Young Dracula" (CBBC, 2006-2014). Born and raised in Barry, Wales, Howell had a desire to act at a very young age. He started taking acting classes when he was a very young boy, and soon began auditioning for film and TV roles in his native Wales. In 2006 he landed a small role in the fantasy film "Crusade" (2006), and followed that up by nabbing a guest spot on the long-running British medical drama "Casualty" (BBC, 1986-). His big break came in 2006 when he was cast as a young Vlad the Impaler, the basis for Dracula, on the TV series "Young Dracula." Howell was the star of the show and appeared in all 65 episodes, thus raising his acting profile in his native Wales. While still appearing on "Young Dracula," Howell decided to advance his acting training even further by enrolling in the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London in 2011. When "Young Dracula" ended its run in 2014, Howell nabbed a supporting role in the period drama "Queen & Country" (2014). It was also during this time that he was appearing semi-regularly on the children's show "The Sparticle Mystery" (BBC 2011-15). With his acting career moving forward at a good clip abroad, Howell broke out in the U.S. in 2016 when he was cast in "The Wizard of Oz" themed television series "The Emerald City." Howell was cast as Jack on the show, which premiered to much fanfare on NBC in January of 2017.
