George Savalas

George Savalas was an accomplished actor who appeared in a variety of films throughout his Hollywood career. Savalas began his acting career appearing mainly in films, such as the adventure "Genghis Khan" (1965) with Omar Sharif, the Mia Farrow suspenseful adaptation "Rosemary's Baby" (1968) and the Neville Brand comedy "Backtrack" (1969). Savalas worked in television around the start of his acting career with a role on "All in the Family" (CBS, 1970-79). He kept working in film throughout the seventies, starring in the Clint Eastwood comedy "Kelly's Heroes" (1970) and the action flick "Violent City" (1970) with Charles Bronson. His work around this time also included a part on the TV movie "The Marcus-Nelson Murders" (CBS, 1972-73). He also was featured in the TV movie "Kojak: The Belarus File" (CBS, 1984-85). Savalas more recently appeared in "Alice in Wonderland" (1985).
