George Chesebro

George Chesebro was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Chesebro began his acting career with roles in such films as "The Lost City" (1920), "Wolf Blood" (1925) and "The Mile a Minute Man" (1926). He also appeared in "Show Boat" (1929) with Laura La Plante, "The Sheriff's Secret" (1931) and the western "The Kid From Arizona" (1931) with Jack Perrin. His film career continued throughout the thirties in productions like the Gene Autry musical "Red River Valley" (1936), the John Wayne western "The Lawless Nineties" (1936) and the Tom Tyler western "Pinto Rustlers" (1936). He also appeared in "Trail Dust" (1936). Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in "The Medico of Painted Springs" (1941), "Perils of the Royal Mounted" (1942) and the Ray Corrigan western "Thunder River Feud" (1942). He also appeared in the western "Death Rides the Plains" (1943) with Robert Livingston and "The Valley of Vanishing Men" (1943) with Billy Elliott. Chesebro last acted in the western "Horsemen of the Sierras" (1949) with Charles Starrett. Chesebro passed away in May 1959 at the age of 71.
