Gary Jones
During the late 1990s/early 21st century, actor Gary Jones certainly made his presence felt with sci-fi fans, as he portrayed a character that appeared on both the popular science fiction series "Stargate SG-1" and its sequel "Stargate Atlantis." Jones was a member of Toronto's The Second City improv company during the mid 1980s, and a few years later began landing one-off appearances on television shows. But it was his portrayal of character Chief Master Sergeant Walter Harriman on "Stargate SG-1" that served as Jones's breakthrough, appearing on 108 episodes from throughout the series' 1997 through 2007 run. And during the same time, the Harriman character made sporadic appearances on the equally popular spinoff "Stargate Atlantis," as well as two direct-to-DVD movies, "Stargate: The Ark of Truth" and "Stargate: Continuum." In addition to acting, Jones is also known as an event host for charity galas, and has written episodes of other Canadian-produced science fiction and fantasy series.
