Fritzi Burr

Actress Fritzi Burr began her career as a comedienne, performing stand-up and participating in sketch comedy shows over a 20-year span. She made her Broadway debut in 1967, when she replaced Kay Medford in the role of Mrs. Brice in the musical comedy "Funny Girl." Later, Burr moved out West to pursue work in film and television. In 1970, she broke into television with a one-off on Marlo Thomas's beloved sitcom, "That Girl," and made her film debut with a supporting role in fellow comedian Jackie Gleason's romantic comedy "How Do I Love Thee?" Burr proved prolific on television, earning over 50 roles on 45 series. Conversely, she only appeared in a handful of films, but this included a small role in the iconic Roman Polanski crime drama, "Chinatown."
