Frank Rice

Frank Rice was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Rice's early acting career consisted of roles in various films, such as "The Cloud Rider" (1925), "The Vanishing Rider" (1928) and "A Thief in the Dark" (1928). He also appeared in "The Wagon Master" (1929) with Ken Maynard, "The Overland Telegraph" (1929) with Tim McCoy and "The Royal Rider" (1929). He continued to work steadily in film throughout the thirties, appearing in the western "The Fighting Legion" (1930) with Ken Maynard, "Corsair" (1931) and the Tim McCoy western "Shotgun Pass" (1932). He also appeared in the western "The Sunset Trail" (1932) with Ken Maynard. In the latter half of his career, he tackled roles in the Tom Tyler western "Terror of the Plains" (1934), the action film "The Fighting Ranger" (1934) with Buck Jones and "Border Brigands" (1935) with Buck Jones. He also appeared in the Buck Jones western "The Ivory-Handled Gun" (1935) and the western "Valley of Wanted Men" (1935) with Frankie Darro. Rice more recently acted in "The Oregon Trail" (1936). Rice passed away in January 1936 at the age of 44.
