Frank Pettingell

Frank Pettingell was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Pettingell started off his career in film with roles in the musical "The Good Companions" (1932) with Edmund Gwenn, the dramatic adaptation "Escape" (1948) with Rex Harrison and "The Magic Box" (1951). Pettingell then began to rack up a number of film credits, including roles in "The Crimson Pirate" (1952), the Alec Guinness drama "The Promoter" (1952) and "Value For Money" (1955). He also appeared in "Up the Creek!" (1958) with David Tomlinson, the comedic adaptation "Trial and Error" (1962) with Richard Attenborough and the dramatic adaptation "Term of Trial" (1963) with Laurence Olivier. Later in his career, Pettingell acted in "Becket" (1964). Pettingell passed away in February 1966 at the age of 75.
