Evelyn Guerrero
Growing up in Los Angeles, actress Evelyn Guerrero first encountered her husband Pat Morita in an unconventional way. In 1964, the future Mr. Miyagi was getting his start as a nightclub host and shared a manager with Guerrero's mother, a stripper, who performed while Evelyn did her homework off-stage. Five years later, Guerrero made her feature debut in the surfers-vs.-bikers exploitation film "Wild Wheels." Throughout the 1970s, she had a number of minor television guest appearances and film roles, most notably as a serial killer's victim in the 1979 slasher film "The Toolbox Murders." 1980 was her breakout year, as Guerrero played Cheech Marin's girlfriend in the stoner comedy "Cheech & Chong's Next Movie," a role she would reprise in the duo's next two movies. The same year, Guerrero cemented her pinup status when she became the first Latina to pose in "Playboy" magazine. Throughout the 1980s, Guerrero received a number of minor television parts, including a brief recurring role on the primetime soap opera "Dallas." In the mid-90s, Guerrero and Morita's paths crossed again, and they married in 1994. Guerrero's last screen part was alongside her husband in the 1999 Jean-Claude Van Damme vehicle "Inferno." Since Morita's death in 2005, Guerrero has kept a low public profile.
