Emo Philips

Emo Philips was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. He appeared in a number of television specials, including "Emo Philips" (Cinemax, 1985-86) and "HBO Presents Emo" (HBO, 1986-87). He worked in series television while getting his start in acting, including a part on "Improv Tonight" (1988-89). Philips focused on television in more recent years, appearing on "Caroline's Comedy Hour" (1989-1996) and "London Underground" (Comedy Central, 1990-93). He also contributed to a variety of television specials, including "The Comedy Club Special" (ABC, 1988-89) and "Emo Philips: An American Mammal in London" (Showtime, 1990-91). More recently, he earned a role in the Weird Al Yankovic comedy "UHF" (1989). He also played parts in television during these years, including roles in "Caroline's Comedy Hour" (1989-1996) and "London Underground" (Comedy Central, 1990-93). In addition to his voice work, he appeared on camera in "Desperation Blvd." (2000) with Judy Tenuta. Most recently, Philips acted on "Review with Forrest MacNeil" (Comedy Central, 2013-15).
