When a death occurs in Nick’s family, Jess, Schmidt and Winston travel with Nick to the Windy City to help him with the funeral preparations and meet his boisterous family members, including his mom, Bonnie (guest stat Martindale); his younger brother, Jamie (guest star Kroll); and his Boston cousin, Bobby (guest star Burr).

Jules and Grayson receive a wedding invitation from a couple they barely know and on a date that conflicts with Grayson's roller-hockey finals. Meanwhile, Bobby finds out that Dog Travis has puppies, and the crew discovers that Tom has created a model of the neighborhood.

The town of Gulf Haven is transformed into a pirate's cove for Buccaneer Week. Andy pleads with Ellie to appeal to tourists by bringing out her alter ego, Charming Ellie. Enamored by this new version of her best friend, Jules cannot get enough of "Chellie." Meanwhile, Laurie starts baking "naughty cakes".

Laurie teaches Jules the rules of karma after Jules lies to customers at the annual cul-de-sac yard sale. Andy uses some of his new yard sale purchases to test Ellie. Meanwhile, Bobby must overcome his fear of rollercoasters to fulfill his grandfather's dying wish.

Grayson makes a reservation at the hottest restaurant in town, and he and Jules are determined to make it despite constant obstacles. Andy rents a special costume for Stan's birthday, but he has trouble getting it off. And Ellie starts ghost tweeting for Laurie, eventually getting lost in her new character.
