Dr. Darcy Sterling
Dr. Darcy Sterling provided relationship advice and perspective to the famous and infamous alike through numerous television appearances and hosting duties on "Famously Single" (E!, 2016-). Born Darcy Smith in Livingston, New Jersey, Sterling earned her master's degree in social work from Columbia University in 1996, and formed her practice, Alternative Counseling, that same year. The company moved from its home base in New Jersey to New York in 1998, and Sterling received her doctorate from the New York University School of Social Work in 2006. She also began penning an advice blog on her site, Ask Dr. Darcy, which led to syndication in Go magazine from 2008 to 2015. The popularity of the column led to other writing assignments for The Huffington Post and Psychology Today, which in turn led to on-camera commentary for E! Entertainment and RT News, among other outlets. In 2016, Sterling moved into television hosting duties, serving as the face and psychological resource for "Famously Single." The series brought together celebrities from the reality television field to examine their own relationship issues with advice from Dr. Sterling.
