Dorothy Abbott

Actress Dorothy Abbott was known for her roles on the silver screen. Abbott had an early acting career in film, appearing in such titles as the Doris Day biopic drama "Love Me or Leave Me" (1955), "Rebel Without a Cause" (1955) and the Maureen O'Hara comedy "Everything But the Truth" (1956). She also appeared in "Gunfight at the O.K. Corral" (1957). She worked in series television while getting her start in acting, including a part on "Dragnet" (NBC, 1951-59). She kept working in film throughout the fifties, starring in "Jailhouse Rock" (1957), the John Wayne drama "Jet Pilot" (1957) and the comedy "Pillow Talk" (1959) with Rock Hudson. She also worked in television around this time, including a part on "Leave It to Beaver" (1957-1963). Toward the end of her career, she continued to act in the comedy adaptation "Pepe" (1960) with Cantinflas, the comedic drama "The Apartment" (1960) with Jack Lemmon and the comedy "Sergeants 3" (1962) with Frank Sinatra. She also appeared in the Cary Grant comedy "That Touch of Mink" (1962). Abbott more recently acted in "A Gathering of Eagles" (1963) with Rock Hudson.
