Donald Shebib

Donald Shebib began his directing career in film but has since moved into television. Shebib directed a variety of independent films at the beginning of his Hollywood career, working on such titles as "Goin' Down the Road" (1970), the comedy "Rip-Off" (1971) with Don Scardino and the Michael Parks crime picture "Get Back" (1973). He also appeared in "Second Wind" (1976) with James Naughton, "Fish Hawk" (1981) with Will Sampson and "Heartaches" (1982). He continued to work in film in the eighties and the nineties, directing motion pictures like the Robby Benson biographical drama "Running Brave" (1983), the adventure "The Climb" (1987) with Bruce Greenwood and "Men of Steel" (1988) with Allan Royal. He also appeared in the dramatic comedy "Change of Heart" (1993) with Jeremy Ratchford . Shebib most recently directed the comedy "Down the Road Again" (2011) with Doug McGrath. Donald Shebib died on November 5, 2023 at the age of 85.
