Dizzy Fae

Stylistically daring R&B singer Dizzy Fae drew upon a wide variety of influences when she began developing her sound, ranging from '80s funk to futuristic synth pop. She was still in her teens when she released her eclectic debut mixtape Free Form, which earned rave reviews from high-profile fans like Lizzo and the Internet. Dizzy Fae was born in St. Paul, Minnesota and grew up studying dance and vocal performance. In her late teens, she began pursuing music as a full-time endeavor, linking up with producers like Su Na and Psymun. An early break came for the young artist in 2016, when she was invited to open shows on an early tour for R&B superpower Lizzo. Her profile grew from there with the release of her 2018 mixtape Free Form, a collection of songs that jumped from one place to another stylistically and often touched on themes of queer love and sex. The project was critically acclaimed and gained Fae fans like Empress Of and the Internet. In 2019 she returned with a more conceptually streamlined mixtape called NO GMO. ~ Fred Thomas, Rovi
