Diplo started his musical career as a DJ at the radio station WPRK. During 2003, he collaborated with DJ Low Budget, with whom he threw 'Hollertronix"parties that allowed them to release mixtapes that became popular; one of them, "Never Scared", was selected as one of the New York Times' top 10 albums of that year. He is involved in various musical projects of great renown and popularity, like Major Lazer (with Walshy Fire and Ape Drums), Jack Ü (with Skrillex), LSD (with Sia and Labrinth) and Silk City (with Mark Ronson). In 2008, he directed and participated as himself in the film "Favela on Blast". He has also appeared in documentaries like "808" (2015), "I'll Sleep When I'm Dead" (2016) and "Florida to California" (2018). He has appeared in other films and TV projects such as Ridiculousness (MTV, 2016), Chelsea (Netflix, 2017), Detective Pikachu (2019), The Price Is Right (CBS, 2020), The High Note (2020), and The Eric Andre Show (Adult Swim, 2023).
