Desmond Child

Desmond Child brought his musical talents to a variety of films over the course of his Hollywood career. Child began his entertainment career with his music featured in films like the action picture "The Warriors" (1979) with Michael Beck, the drama "Times Square" (1980) with Tim Curry and the dramatic adaptation "Endless Love" (1981) with Brooke Shields. His music also appeared in the Jill Clayburgh dramatic adaptation "I'm Dancing As Fast As I Can" (1982) and the Louis Gossett Jr. action film "Iron Eagle II" (1988). In the nineties and the early 2000s, Child's music continued to appear on the silver screen, including in films like the Julia Roberts blockbuster comedy "Runaway Bride" (1999), "Moulin Rouge" (2001) with Nicole Kidman and "Rock Star" (2001) with Mark Wahlberg. His work was also in the comedic adaptation "Undercover Brother" (2002) with Eddie Griffin. Child was nominated for an Outstanding Music and Lyrics Primetime Emmy Award for "It's A Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie" in 2003. Child's music was also featured in "Baby Mama" (2008), the comedy "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past" (2009) with Matthew McConaughey and "Gentlemen Broncos" (2009). His music was also featured in "Oy Vey! My Son is Gay!" (2010) and the Nicolas Cage action movie "Drive Angry" (2011). Child's music was most recently featured in the Anna Kendrick smash hit comedy sequel "Pitch Perfect 2" (2015). Child was married to Curtis Shaw and had two sons, Nyro Shaw Child and Roman Shaw Child.
