Derek Thompson

Actor Derek Thompson appeared in a variety of films over the course of his Hollywood career. Thompson started off his acting career mostly in film roles, appearing in "Yanks" (1979), the musical "Breaking Glass" (1980) with Phil Daniels and the Bob Hoskins drama "The Long Good Friday" (1980). He also appeared in the Burt Reynolds comedy "Paternity" (1981), the Scott Glenn spy thriller "Wild Geese II" (1985) and the Patrick Swayze box office smash comedic fantasy "Ghost" (1990). He also appeared in the TV movie "Flamingo Road" (NBC, 1979-1980). He kept working in film throughout the nineties and the early 2000s, starring in "Adventures of the Zordine Warriors" (1999) and the Stuart Townsend dramatic adaptation "Resurrection Man" (2000). Following that project, he worked on "The Parkers" (1998-2004), "City of Angels" (CBS, 1999-2001) and "The West Wing" (NBC, 1999-2006). Thompson continued to exercise his talent in the early 2000s through the 2010s, taking on a mix of projects like "The King is Alive" (2001) starring Jennifer Jason Leigh, "The Wash" (2001) and "Death Comes to Town" (Canadian Broadcasting Company (CBC), 2009-2010). His credits also expanded to "Debbie Macomber's Cedar Cove" (Hallmark Channel, 2012-15), "Mom" (CBS, 2013-) and "When Calls the Heart" (Hallmark Channel, 2013-). Thompson most recently worked on "Toy Story That Time Forgot" (ABC, 2014).
