David Fierro

Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, David Fierro achieved an MFA from Columbia University, but began his career as an actor close to home. His first professional on stage roles were with the San Francisco Shakespeare Company and the Berkeley Repertory Theater. Fierro's first major screen exposure came when he appeared in a supporting role on a 2012 episode of "Blue Bloods" (CBS, 2010-). In 2013, Fierro made a number of appearances on both small and large screens, with supporting roles on "Person of Interest" (CBS, 2011-16), and in Steven Soderbergh's "Side Effects" (2013). The next year he had a small role in "Birdman: Or the Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance" (2014), which won the Academy Award for Best Picture. The same year he premiered in his first series recurring role, on period hospital drama "The Knick" (Showtime, 2014-15). Directed and produced by Soderbergh, the show starred Clive Owen as a conflicted surgeon in New York in the early 1900s. Fierro played a corrupt inspector who funneled patients to the highest bidder. In 2015, in addition to continuing his role on "The Knick," Fierro again collaborated with Soderbergh, appearing in a recurring role in the opening season of "Red Oaks" (Amazon, 2015-), a coming of age comedy set in the mid 1980s, which Soderbergh executive produced.
