David Bromstad
American designer and TV personality David Bromstad was born in Cokato, Minnesota. He manifested an interest in art and design from an early age and decided while still in high school to pursue a career as an animator. After graduating from the Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida, he went on to become an illustrator for Disney. It was while he worked at the company that he started his own business endeavors, Bromstad Studio. He eventually moved to Miami Beach to take a spot on the reality show "Design Star" (HGTV, 2006-13), a competition to pick a host for a new TV show. In the years that followed, he would also occasionally return to the show as a judge and a mentor. After winning the first season, Bromstad went on to star in "Color Splash" (HGTV, 2007-12) for the next few years, as well as in "Design All-Stars" (HGTV, 2012). He appeared in a series of other programs from the same network and has since became the host for "My Lottery Dream Home" (HGTV, 2015-).
