Darri Olafsson
Olafur Darri Olafsson found incredible success as an accomplished actor, appearing in a variety of films throughout his Hollywood career. Early on in his acting career, Olafsson landed roles in various films, including the comedy "Pearls and Swine" (1998) with Ólafía Hrönn Jónsdóttir, the Robert Arnfinnsson comedy "Fiasko" (1999) and the Victoria Abril dramatic adaptation "101 Reykjavik" (2001). He also appeared in "Thicker Than Water" (2006), "Beowulf & Grendel" (2006) with Gerard Butler and "Born" (2006) with Gisli Orn Gardarsson. He kept working in film throughout the early 2000s, starring in the Hilmir Snær Guðnason comedic adaptation "White Night Wedding" (2008), "Country Wedding" (2008) and "Reykjavik-Rotterdam" (2008). More recently, he continued to act in the action picture "Contraband" (2012) with Mark Wahlberg, "The Deep" (2012) and "XL" (2013). He also appeared in the comedy adventure "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" (2013) with Ben Stiller. He also worked in television during these years, including a part on "True Detective" (HBO, 2013-15). Olafsson most recently acted in the comedic adventure "The BFG" (2016) with Mark Rylance.
