D'Arcy Carden
A funny and familiar face to comedy fans, actor D'Arcy Carden was especially well known among fans of the Upright Citizen's Brigade school of sketch comedy. Born in Danville, California, Carden graduated from Southern Oregon University with a degree in theater and immediately relocated to New York. There, she found her niche at the UCB, where she immersed herself in classes and eventually began performing there herself alongside fellow alums like Kate McKinnon, Ilana Glazer, and Abbi Jacobson. This soon led to Carden appearing in original comedy videos for the web, like the Funny-or-Die sketch "Bachelorette Ashley Is Single Again" (2011) and the UCB Comedy Originals "Emergency Meeting at the Cadbury Egg Company" (2009) and "Facebook Focus Group: Where Facebook Gets Its Ideas" (2013). Meanwhile, Carden also made forays into broadcast TV, guest starring on an episode of "Inside Amy Schumer" (Comedy Central, 2013-) and taking on the recurring role of the antagonistic Gemma on Glazer and Jacobs' "Broad City" (Comedy Central, 2014-). In 2016, Carden's fame made an even bigger leap when she appeared in the Molly Shannon comedy "Other People" (2016) in addition to co-starring as a sentient computer assistant on the acclaimed primetime comedy series "The Good Place" (NBC, 2016-) alongside Kristen Bell and Ted Danson.
