Cyril Raymond

Cyril Raymond was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Raymond found his beginnings in film with roles in "Thunder in the City" (1937) with Edward G Robinson, "He Loved an Actress" (1938) and the drama "Goodbye, Mr. Chips" (1939) with Robert Donat. Raymond made film his next project, appearing in the Trevor Howard dramatic adaptation "Brief Encounter" (1945), the Robert Donat drama "Lease of Life" (1954) and the Trevor Howard drama "The Heart of the Matter" (1954). He also appeared in the John Mills comedy "The Baby and the Battleship" (1956), the adaptation "Dunkirk" (1958) with John Mills and the Ray Milland thriller "The Safecracker" (1958). Later in his career, Raymond acted in the dramedy "No Kidding" (1961) with Leslie Phillips. Raymond was married to Iris Hoey. Raymond passed away in March 1973 at the age of 74.
