Crystal Bernard
Petite, attractive Southern actress who has had considerable sucess on TV but hasn't fared as well on the big screen. The daughter of an evangelical Southern preacher, Bernard began performing little skits with her three sisters while on tour with her father. She graduated from high school at the age of 15 and promptly went to college where she remained for two years. She moved to L.A. and was immediately cast as the roller-skating hooker in Garry Marshall's "Young Doctors in Love" (1982). Subsequently she was cast as K.C. Cunningham, a cousin of the Cunningham clan, on "Happy Days" (ABC, 1982-84), and in the syndicated series "It's a Living" (1985-87) as a naive Southern waitress among the ranks of seasoned cynical waitresses. Between 1990 and 1997, she played Helen Chappel, the airport concessions/diner owner, cook and waitress on the NBC hit series "Wings."
