Chuck Courtney

Chuck Courtney was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Courtney began his acting career appearing in various films, such as the Sterling Hayden crime feature "The Asphalt Jungle" (1950), the Tyrone Power dramatic adaptation "The Long Gray Line" (1955) and "At Gunpoint" (1955) with Fred MacMurray. He also appeared in the drama "Friendly Persuasion" (1956) with Gary Cooper, the horror flick "Teenage Monster" (1957) with Anne Gwynne and the Eli Wallach crime picture "The Lineup" (1958). He continued to work steadily in film throughout the sixties and the seventies, appearing in "El Dorado" (1966), "Rio Lobo" (1970) and "Santee" (1973). Courtney had a number of different projects under his belt in the eighties and the nineties, including "Invasion U.S.A." (1985), "Pet Sematary" with Fred Gwynne (1989) and "Fire Birds" with Nicolas Cage (1990). His credits also expanded to "The Rookie" (1990) starring Clint Eastwood. Courtney more recently acted in the romance "Rich Girl" (1991) with Jill Schoelen.
