Starsky and Hutch are assigned to maintain a watch over a group of. strippers who have received notes warning of their impending doom in "Death Notice." Strippers Ginger and Sonja are found dead after having received death warnings left by a timid little man later arrested and identified as Anton Rusz. But Anton swears he sent the warnings after listening in on phone conversations in which the murders were planned. Starsky and Hutch believe Anton, but are left in the dark, along with the remaining strippers, as to why the young women were killed.

Starsky and Hutch zero in on narcotics, prostitution and bookmaking operations of a gangland leader in "Bust Amboy." After a raid on Amboy's funeral parlor, a front for prostitution, and a hit on Amboy's bookmaking bank, Starsky and Hutch are shocked when those they arrested are released even before their reports are completed. Amboy, the kingpin of the crime combine, has legally circumvented them. Now, their only hope of busting his operations is to intercept Amboy's expected big shipment of drugs before the drugs can hit the street.
