Christian Lees

Christian Lees was a British actor who broke out in the United States in 2017 when he began appearing as the iconic rockabilly musician Jerry Lee Lewis on the biographical series "Sun Records" (CMT, 2017-). Born and raised in London, England, Lees began his professional acting career in his early teens. He got his start working primarily as a stage actor, and quickly earned a reputation as a talented child performer. At the age of 9, Lees made his debut on London's West End - achieving a monumental feat that some actors spend their entire careers attempting. While working on the West End, Lees appeared in such time-honored productions as "Les Miserables" and "Billy Elliot." It was also during this time that he started his professional training at the Sylvia Young Theatre School, thus learning to hone his fledgling craft under the tutelage of seasoned professionals. Lees landed his first TV role when he was 13, appearing in a guest spot on the police procedural "The Bill" (ITV, 1983-2010). He continued landing small guest roles on TV shows over the next few years until nabbing his first substantial part on the British sitcom "Parents" (Sky 1, 2012). Lees was a castmember on the show, which ran for six episodes during the summer of 2012 before it was cancelled. Undeterred, Lees continued auditioning for film and TV roles over the next few years, most notably nabbing a supporting film in the 2015 fantasy film "Tale of Tales," before landing his breakout role on "Sun Records" in 2017. The series, which told the story of the founding of Sam Phillips' iconic 1950s record label, debuted on CMT in February 2017, with Lees starring as the music world's first rock and roll bad boy Jerry Lee Lewis.
