Chris Lane
On Nov. 9, 1984, Chris Lane was born in Kernersville, N.C. He came into the world with a twin brother named Cory. Lane attended Glenn High School, where he and his brother played football and baseball. Both of them went on to play college baseball at UNC Charlotte. When injuries began to hamper his progression in baseball and surgery all but ended his dreams of playing professionally, he learned how to play the guitar. After returning to his hometown to work for his father's landscaping business, he started a cover band, which led to an unsuccessful audition for the seventh season of "American Idol" in 2007. In 2008, Lane met Seth England of Big Loud Mouth Mountain Management, which launched his career as an up-and-coming country music artist. Before his solo career took off, he fronted the Chris Lane Band, and their album "Let's Ride" charted on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart in 2012. In 2013, he moved to Nashville to further his career. On June 10, 2014, his debut single, "Broken Windshield View," was released to country radio by Big Loud Mountain. The song was featured on Sirius XM's The Highway and iTunes' New and Noteworthy, selling 11,000 downloads in its first week of release and going on to reach No. 45 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Shortly after releasing his debut album, "Girl Problems," in August of 2016, the album's first single, "Fix," was released to Country radio on Oct. 30, 2015. The song reached No. 1 on the country radio charts and was certified gold in the U.S. and Canada, surpassing 25.8 million streams on Spotify and 6 million views on Vevo, and accumulating the most first week single adds from a debut male artist in Country Aircheck history. Lane has opened for The Band Perry, Eli Young Band, Lee Brice, Chris Young, and Brantley Gilbert, among others.
