The Veep's office is revived by good news that her task force is likely to be green lit. With the President (conveniently) out of the country, Selina looks to make headway on filibuster reform and meeting with some 'normal' people.

Selina attends a healthy-eating event at Camden Yards with some very grumpy fast-food executives, where she also confides a secret to Amy. Mike holds a press briefing for some local news pals, save for the inquisitive Leon West. Later, with the Veep delayed, Amy and Dan are forced to entertain elementary-school children.

Officer Nate Kendall (guest star Wentworth Miller) aids a woman in trouble and becomes roped into solving a rape case. While Detectives Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni) and Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) believe that Kendall is not right for the case due to his unstable personality, Executive ADA Sonya Paxton (guest star Christine Lahti) joins the team, bringing evidence of a common thread among three other rape cases. With Paxton’s help, the team might expose a serial rapist. Also starring: Richard Belzer (Detective John Munch), Dann Florek (Captain Donald Cragen), Ice-T (Detective Odafin Tutuola), Tamara Tunie (Dr. Melinda Warner), and B.D. Wong (Dr. George Huang).

Series Premiere. Hannah, a 24-year-old aspiring writer living in NYC, is blindsided when her parents cut her off financially. Subsequently fired from her unpaid internship, she seeks comfort from Adam, the eccentric actor she sometimes sleeps with when she can get him to respond to her texts. Meanwhile, Hannah's best friend and Type-A roommate Marnie hosts a dinner party for their bohemian British friend Jessa, who has returned from who-knows-where to move in with her younger, 'Sex and the City'-obsessed cousin Shoshanna.

When security cameras record footage of a woman being abducted, it isn't long before Captain Donald Cragen (Dann Florek) and the SVU squad find the woman dead in the basement. Detective John Munch (Richard Belzer) recalls a similar case from twenty years before, sending Detectives Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni) to Sing Sing to speak to the culprit, who begs them to reopen his case and prove his innocence. As strange similarities between the two cases begin to arise, Benson and Stabler face fierce opposition from Ingrid Block (guest star Lena Olin), the pit bull attorney for the main suspect who will do whatever it takes to prove her client's innocence. Ultimately, it falls on DA Jack McCoy (guest star Sam Waterston) to decide whether or not the ruthless lengths to which Block went to defend her client constituted a crime itself. Also starring: Ice-T (Detective Odafin Tutuola), Tamara Tunie (Dr. Melinda Warner), and B.D. Wong (Dr. George Huang).
