Cherie Corinne Rice

Audiences first caught wind of Cherie Rice when she took on the role of high powered agent Malik Walker on the comedy series "Nightcap" (Pop, 2016-). Born in the Bay Area city of Pittsburg, California, Rice was like a lot of young performers, taking an interest in the stage through school plays and her church choir. She eventually earned a bachelor's degree in Theater Performance Studies from UC Berkeley, before going on to pursue graduate studies at Brown University's Trinity Repertory, where she earned her MFA in acting in 2010. Having participated in a large number of theatrical productions at Brown, including "The Tempest," "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof," and "Hamlet," Rice was well prepared to enter the world of professional acting, quickly becoming a founding member of the Light Fantastic Theater Company, starring in their inaugural production of "The Glass Menagerie." After playing belly dancer Bianca in a St. Louis Shakespeare Festival's production of "Othello" in 2012, Rice landed her first TV role, appearing in an episode of the acclaimed series "Nurse Jackie" (Showtime, 2009-2015). The following year, Rice landed the role of Malik, which found her playing against a number of big-name stars on the showbiz satire.
